Steelers Opening Game

So we were lucky enough to score a couple of tickets to the Steelers home opener. It was a good thing that Grammy and Pap Pap know some season ticket holders. Jack seemed to be excited about the game (probably because his parents were). We ran into one very large snafu, though, once we got to the gate- Jack did not have a ticket and they would not let him in without one. We were very politely told that everyone, including 1 day old babies, must have a ticket to come into the stadium. It never occurred to us that he would need a ticket and we assumed that he could just sit on our laps. Well, it turns out that he would have to sit on our laps (because the game was sold out) but in order to do that, he would need a ticket. So after 45 minutes of wandering around, we finally made it to the gate for the suites where we we able to buy a "baby ticket", at full price of course. So Jack made it in.

After being initially overwhelmed by the sheer roar of Steelers fans and fireworks, he quickly adjusted a learned how to yell and clap with everyone else.

Jack didn't take much of a nap during the 5 hour drive up to Pittsburgh from DC and was so tired that he managed to fall asleep for a whole quarter despite the deafening noise of the fans around him.

(not to mention an empty seat at half time).
