Sad Trip to Salt Lake

On October 14th, our dear Grandpa Lee passed away. We headed out to Salt Lake for what would be a bittersweet trip. We loved being able to see everyone and spend time with all of our family that we don't get to see very often but we were very sad to see Grandpa go. We miss him dearly and Salt Lake will never be the same without him there. We were so lucky to have him in our lives for as long as we did. He was truly a blessing to us.

This is Jack and his cousin, Beckham, who is about 6 months younger than he is. They have grown up a little bit since they have seen each other last. As soon as Aunt Nikki brought over Beckham, they were instant friends and throughout the trip, Jack would frequently ask about his "baby" when Beckham wasn't around.
Mimi and Pop have recently redone their kitchen and put the microwave in a very assessable spot for the boys. I think that they spent 15 minutes playing with the buttons before they got bored and moved on to running up and down the hallways screeching at each other.

Jack was lucky enough to be able to schedule a lunch date with Grammy and Grandpa on his birthday. He was very excited to be sitting next to Grandpa and across from Grammy- he had their full attention and could show them all of his grown up eating skills.

Jack loved Mimi and Pop's new landscaping out front. It provided a lot of opportunity for rock climbing.

Jack was lucky enough to be able to visit Hogle Zoo while he was out in Salt Lake. Here he is holding his "baby" Beckham.

Beckham, Jack and Mimi.

Jack was very excited to see the new baby elephant at the zoo and loved to watch her drink her "wa wa".

Since Jack was out in Salt Lake for his 2nd birthday, he celebrated all day long. Grandma B, Aunt Maere, Aunt Martha and Uncle Caleb were nice enough to throw him a party later that night. I think that it was Nick who requested the German chocolate cake though, I am not sure that Jack was that specific about what he wanted.

A book about tractors and trucks- Jacks new obsession.
