After several hours of what turned out to be contractions (thanks to an emergency house call by Grandma B., BSN, it was determined that Shannon’s cramps were in fact labor contractions). Shanny, in the kitchen at 1:51 AM on October 17th, calls the Doctor. The Doctor advises us to head for the hospital. Meanwhile, Grandma B. rushes home to get the diaper bag she had intended to give Shanny for an additional shower present, but Bambino Lindo decided to come early, 11 days early.
Heavily medicated, Shanny consented to me taking this shot after about 10 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing. 
Several hours later--after 4 more hours of pushing and a subsequent emergency c-section--at 2:09PM, we FINALLY have our sweet little guy.

Mommy meets her Lindo for the first time, as he successfully fights off the fluid he aspirated during birth.
