Happy Half Birthday Bambino Lindo!

Today is Jack’s 6 month birthday. Here is some info on what he is up to:

• He now has his first tooth which sprang up on Monday, April 14th. I would take a picture of it but I can’t get the picture taken before he shoves his hand back in his mouth.

• Jack can successfully roll over from his back to his stomach (he may be able to go the reverse as well, I just haven’t witnessed it yet).

• Jack is eating solid foods and it already onto Gerber 2nd foods. He loves bananas and will inhale anything with applesauce in it. If he knows that he is getting applesauce, he will sit in his high chair and quiver in anticipation. He likes peas and green beans but prefers squash and sweet potoatos when it comes to veggies. He really doesn’t like carrots. We have tried, unsuccessfully, to introduce Cheerios. Once he has the Cheerio on his tongue, he will stick it out and make coughing sounds to let you know that he doesn’t like it there and it needs to be removed. Curiously, though, he doesn’t have the same reaction to the tissue paper that he tried to eat from one of Nick’s birthday presents.

• He is almost sitting up, which means to say that the sheer weight of his fat legs and bottom keep balanced for a couple of seconds before the weight of his belly topples him to one side or the other.

• He is jumping like crazy in his Rainforest Jumperoo. We didn’t think that he would like it that much and to begin with he didn’t. Now he is jumping around like a natural – even after we take him out of it and are trying to hold him in our laps.

• Jack likes his baths. He loves the warm water, the bubbles and the sounds that the water makes when he splashes. Most of all, he likes to suck the bath water out of the washcloth that we put on his stomach to keep him warm.

• Jack loves to laugh. We have found a couple of places where his is ticklish- on his belly and on the bottoms of his feet. The sillier you are, the more he will giggle at you. He loves it when we make fools out of ourselves trying to get him to laugh.

• He only gets up one time during the night. He never really wakes up, just cries and whimpers from a hungry tummy. Once we feed him a bottle, he will immediately fall back to sleep. (Unless he is cutting a tooth and then he will wake up 3+ times at night b/c he wants to be cuddled).

• Jack loves to be out and about. He is a people watcher and is very entertained by being at the mall or in the grocery store. He loves to be engaged and see new things.
